A History of the Friends

The Friends of the Hollidaysburg Area Public Library is a long-standing volunteer organization with over 27 years of service and fundraising in support of the Library. We conduct book sales each year in April and September, and membership teas in May and November. We also sell pecans in October and Christmas wreaths in November. We hold a variety of other fundraising projects throughout the year including bake sales, a yard sale, and a Christmas sale. Every fall we sponsor a booth selling sandwiches and drinks at the Old Tyme Faire at the Canal Basin Park. We support the Library staff at events such as the end-of-summer-reading programs featuring a book character such as Clifford and Arthur.  In the past, some of our activities have included working at the Curve concession stand, art auctions, tea and style shows, guest speakers and author lectures.  This past year, we raised $7000 for the library.  We are pleased that everything we do and all of our profits benefit the Hollidaysburg Area Public Library.
